My Personal Cruise Experiences
My very first cruise ever was in 1990 – I went on the Carnival Festivale, which was barely more than a cargo ship with some entertainment, but I was totally hooked! We traveled to St. Thomas, St. Maarten, Martinique and Barbados. I loved it so much that the following year, I went on the same ship for my HONEYMOON!
What followed, for now over 30 years, have been more than 25 cruises. I’ve gone with my sister and her husband, then, after children, we brought them along too. We would go on a cruise every year – and our families loved it! Throughout the years, I organized large groups of our friends to cruise as well as additional family vacations.
In 2006, when I lost my dad, we even spread some of my dad’s ashes in St. Maarten, so it truly has a special place in my heart.
I’ve been to most of the islands throughout the Caribbean and Mexico with my favorite port being Cozumel. I love the beautiful shopping area that is at the port. It’s a wonderful place to find locally made goods as well as souvenirs and have some fun in bars such as Senor Frogs and Fat Tuesday. On Cozumel, we love to go to Paradise Beach, spending the day delighting in their food and wonderful on-the-beach service along with the beautiful pool and the super clean bathrooms.
